Want to Workout in Jupiter-Tequesta?

While there are plenty of gyms in and around the northern Palm Beaches, I want to shout out one in Jupiter-Tequesta.

FitTown, formerly known as CrossFit Palm Beach, has been going strong since 2012.

If you get bored with your fitness routine, then this may be the place to try as every day there is a different WOD.

If you’re wondering what a WOD is, it’s an acronym for Workout of the Day.

At this gym, there are a slew of acronyms to learn* see below⬇️

One of the many reasons I’ve loved going here for the past 10 YEARS, is because it takes the guessing out of what my workout is going to be every day.

I just show up at the gym and listen to instructions with my group for the WOD.

Depending on the day, it may be an AMRAP (as many reps as possible).

Or, it could be an EMOM (every minute on the minute).

I wasn’t kidding about the acronyms 😉

After instructions and warmup, the class group sets off together, either, setting up their stations, possibly partnering up, grabbing a mat or weights…the possibilities are endless!

Everyone is working in tandem with music playing, timer set…and after 20 to 30 minutes of a good sweat, it’s all over!

So, if you want to feel like a kid again this place is a great place to go.

There are 2 buildings at FitTown, one offering a more traditional CrossFit style class in the south gym, and BeachFit in the north gym which is a little less weight centric.

Both sides can be scaled to different fitness levels, but the BeachFit class differs in that there are no barbells used in the classes, only body weight, dumbbells and kettlebells.

Both gyms offer dozens of row/bike/ski-ergs, pull up bars, jump ropes…ropes to climb, sleds, boxes.

The vision behind the gym is the creation of the  Frezza family.

On any given day, you will see Tony and Andrew, the extremely fit brothers who developed the gym, giving instruction while their parents, Buddy and Carol, may be taking their class.

The family has gotten bigger as Tony and Andrew, and their beautiful wives, have welcomed 5 children (a girl and boy for Tony, and 3 boys for Andrew) since the gym opened in 2012.

You can see their kids at Childcare, or in one of the Kids programs.

It’s definitely a family affair, and they get to know all of their members by name.

Throughout the year, with the help of the amazing coaches, they get creative with events offered to forge community amongst the members.

One of my favorites has been the Annual Dodgeball Tournament (on the top of the podium 🥇).

There have Beach Workouts followed by a cookout, yearly BINGO, and X-Fit Style competitions🤪

Here’s a photo, after the Deadly Duo Competition🥵
